MC Nylon, also known as cast nylon, with the full English name Monomer Casting Nylon, and its scientific name is Polycaprolactam.
Under normal atmospheric pressure, molten caprolactam monomer (C₆H₁₁NO) is mixed with alkaline catalysts, activators and other auxiliaries to prepare polymerizable prepolymer. The mixture is directly injected into molds preheated to a specific temperature, triggering rapid polymerization inside the mold to form tough solid blanks. Target finished products are obtained after subsequent processing procedures.
As a representative engineering plastic, MC Nylon realizes metal replacement with plastic and delivers outstanding comprehensive performance with extremely wide application coverage. It integrates lightweight, high mechanical strength, self-lubrication, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and insulation properties, being a versatile engineering plastic applied in nearly all industrial sectors. Its friction coefficient is 8.8 times lower than steel and 8.3 times lower than copper, while its density only accounts for one-seventh of copper. MC Nylon can directly replace copper, stainless steel, aluminum alloy and other metal components.
YILONG has long manufactured MC Nylon pulleys, sliding blocks, gears, worm gears, supporting rollers, traveling wheels, water pump impellers, shaft sleeves, bearing bushes, pins, piston valve bodies, rubber baffle plates, belt pulleys, rotating wheels, solid rods, tubes and sheets. These products successfully substitute corresponding metal parts, cut customers’ overall procurement costs, extend the service life of complete equipment and spare parts, and bring remarkable economic benefits.
As a vibration-damping and wear-resistant structural material replacing non-ferrous metals and alloy steel for mechanical equipment, MC Nylon features outstanding volume advantages: a 400-kilogram MC Nylon workpiece occupies the same volume as 2.7 tons of steel or 3 tons of bronze. Equipment assembled with MC Nylon parts improves mechanical efficiency, reduces maintenance frequency, and generally extends service life by 4 to 5 times.
PA Polyamide (Nylon)
English Name: Polyamide, abbreviated as Nylon or PA. Polyamides are divided into multiple grades, mainly PA6, PA66, PA46, PA11 and PA12. Different grades present distinct physical properties due to differences in molecular chain composition and structure.
PA6 Natural (White) / Black PA6 features balanced mechanical strength, rigidity, toughness, vibration damping and wear resistance. Combined with reliable electrical insulation and chemical corrosion resistance, it serves as a universal material for mechanical structural components.
PA66 Natural (Cream Yellow) / Black Compared with PA6, PA66 boasts higher mechanical strength, rigidity, heat resistance and abrasion resistance, as well as superior creep resistance, while its impact resistance and vibration damping capacity are slightly weakened.
PA66-GF30 Black This thermally stabilized nylon is reinforced with 30% glass fiber, delivering higher strength, rigidity, creep resistance, dimensional stability and prominent wear resistance. Its long-term continuous operating temperature reaches 120°C.
PA66-MoS2 Gray Black Molybdenum disulfide is added to this modified nylon. Compared with standard PA66, its rigidity, hardness and dimensional stability are enhanced at the expense of slightly reduced impact strength. Molybdenum disulfide optimizes the material’s crystalline structure to upgrade load-bearing capacity and wear resistance.
PA46 Reddish Brown Superior to conventional nylon in heat resistance, high-temperature mechanical strength, thermal aging resistance and abrasion resistance, PA46 supports long-term service at 155°C.
Outstanding Performance Advantages
Excellent mechanical strength, rigidity and hardness
High impact strength, capable of bearing heavy dynamic loads
Low friction coefficient and excellent wear resistance
Reliable fatigue resistance
Good resistance to high-energy radiation (gamma rays and X-rays)
Resistant to weak acids, alkalis and all mainstream commercial organic solvents
Excellent machinability
Non-toxic and food-contact safe
Disadvantages
PA6 has a water absorption rate up to 9%
Physical stability and dimensional accuracy are affected by temperature and humidity changes
Application Range
Nylon materials have extremely broad applications, commonly used for wear-resistant bearings, shaft sleeves, gears, anti-friction sliding blocks, stoppers, chain guide rails, sealing rings, valve plates and other components.
