Definition

Epoxy Sheet is manufactured by bonding woven fiberglass cloth with epoxy resin under high temperature and high pressure. It delivers outstanding mechanical properties at medium temperatures and stable electrical performance under high-temperature environments.

Raw Materials of Epoxy Sheet

Its raw materials are epoxy resin and glass fiber, both meeting national environmental standards with non-toxic composition. Therefore, it is also named pollution-free Epoxy Sheet.

Main features

A. Diverse Forms Various formulas of resin, curing agent and modifier can satisfy molding requirements of different applications, covering materials ranging from ultra-low viscosity liquid to high-melting-point solid.

B. Flexible Curing Conditions With different matched curing agents, epoxy resin systems can realize complete curing within the temperature range of 0℃ to 180℃.

C. Powerful Adhesion Polar hydroxyl groups and ether bonds contained in epoxy molecular chains grant strong adhesion to all kinds of substrates. Low shrinkage during curing generates tiny internal stress, which further enhances bonding strength.

D. Low Shrinkage Rate The reaction between epoxy resin and curing agent proceeds via direct addition reaction or ring-opening polymerization of epoxy groups, without releasing water or volatile by-products. Compared with unsaturated polyester resin and phenolic resin, epoxy resin achieves an ultra-low shrinkage rate (less than 2%) during curing.

E. Excellent Mechanical Performance Fully cured epoxy systems possess premium mechanical properties.

Applications

As a type of insulating material, Epoxy Sheet is widely applied in electrical equipment such as transformers for separating live components. Firstly, it features superior insulation and high dielectric strength to prevent electric leakage and breakdown accidents. Secondly, it boasts excellent heat resistance and maintains stable shape without deformation at 180℃. In addition, it has favorable thermal conductivity, lightning protection performance and high mechanical strength.

It is suitable for high-insulation structural parts of machinery, electrical and electronic equipment. It combines excellent mechanical and dielectric properties with favorable heat resistance and moisture resistance, reaching heat resistance Class F (155℃).
