Characteristics of Epoxy Fiberglass Winding Tube

This product range includes Epoxy Fiberglass Winding Tubes specially for outdoor high-voltage drop-out fuses, epoxy fiberglass roving tubes, high-voltage current-limiting oil-immersed fuses, high-voltage arresters, high-temperature resistant epoxy fiberglass wound insulating sleeves for transformers, arc-extinguishing vulcanized fiber tubes and fiberglass operating rods. All products fall under the new material industry category.

It complies with Chinese national standards GB/T23100-2008, GB/T22817-2008 and meet IEC international standards.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance The primary raw materials of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tubes are unsaturated polyester resin and fiberglass. It effectively resists erosion by acids, alkalis, salts, untreated domestic sewage, corrosive soil, chemical wastewater and various chemical liquids, enabling long-term stable and safe operation under general service conditions.

Outstanding Anti-Aging & Heat Resistance Fiberglass tubes can operate continuously within a temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. Grades formulated with special high-temperature resistant resins can function stably above 200°C.

Superior Freeze Resistance No cracking occurs when water inside the tube freezes at temperatures below -20°C.

Lightweight with High Mechanical Strength Its specific gravity ranges from 1.5 to 2.0, merely 1/4 to 1/5 that of carbon steel. Its tensile strength is close to or even higher than carbon steel, with specific strength comparable to premium alloy steel. It delivers remarkable lightweight advantages for aircraft, rockets, spacecraft, high-pressure vessels and other components requiring weight reduction.

Flexible Designability Various structural configurations can be customized flexibly to satisfy diverse application requirements and achieve excellent overall structural integrity.

Excellent Wear Resistance Comparative rotational abrasion tests were conducted by circulating water mixed with mud and sand inside different pipes. After 3 million rotation cycles, the measured inner wall abrasion depths are as follows:

Tar & enamel coated steel pipe: 0.53 mm

Epoxy & tar coated steel pipe: 0.52 mm

Surface hardened steel pipe: 0.48 mm

Fiberglass tube: 0.21 mm The test results verify the superior wear resistance of fiberglass tubes.

Excellent Electrical Insulation & Thermal Performance FRP is non-conductive with outstanding insulating performance; its insulation resistance reaches 10¹²–10¹⁵ Ω·cm, making it ideal for areas with dense power & communication lines and thunder-prone zones. Its thermal conductivity is only 0.23, equivalent to 0.005 times that of steel, offering excellent thermal insulation effect.

Low Friction Loss & High Delivery Capacity The ultra-smooth inner wall delivers ultra-low roughness and friction loss, with a roughness coefficient of only 0.0084, compared to 0.014 for concrete pipes and 0.013 for cast iron pipes.

High-temperature flame-retardant insulating tubes, wind turbine dedicated support housings, oil drilling casing tubes, radar base insulators, carbon fiber wound tubes, composite insulators, polymer fuse sleeves, ultra-thin expandable sleeves, military matching components, antenna protective housings and other custom composite products.
